During 2009-2010 18 Lunch & Learn/Classroom Connections sessions were
held with approximately 270 students
participating.
Two Staff Development/Student
Connections were held with
approximately 550 participants
(staff & students).
One pilot Job Shadowing has
also been conducted.
IEEE CNC participated in 13
Career Fairs with approximately 400
student contacts.

The
concept of Entrepreneur Productive
Innovative Engine (PIE) Teams is
planned for introduction into
program this semester. PIE
Teams is a way to expand the domain
knowledge areas from Engineering
(Design and Development) and
Technology (Manufacturing/Service)
hats to include Customer
(Marketplace), Scientist (Research),
Logistics (Global Supply Chain) and
Business (Entrepreneur) Hats. The
approach is to introduce PIE Team
concept prior to guest presentors
thereby showing how the guest domain
knowledge fits into the PIE Team and
student career options. A
survey of the students is planned to
gauge understanding of PIE Team
concept and interest in
participation in PIE Teams.
The PIE Team framework should give
students a means for improving
relevance of school subjects to the
real world.
