About Engineering Connections

The Principals for the GTCC Middle Colleges requested Guilford Education Alliance develop a program to bring "Real Life Engineering Experience" into the classroom.

The purpose of "Engineering Connections" is to develop Skills for the 21st Economy by bringing Engineering Experiences into the classroom through  Lunch & Learn/Classroom Connections, Staff Development and Job Shadowing/Mentoring.  The program was conducted during the Guilford County Schools 2008 Fall -2011 Spring year with 72 people sessions; (people sessions correspond to number of persons conducting session, i.e., 3 people jointly conducting a session represents 3 people session; one person conducting three sessions would also represent  3 people sessions).  Also Staff Development sessions were conducted for the 2008 Fall (18), 2009 Fall (200) and 2010 Spring (250) sessions.  Schedules of some sessions are available at 2009-2010 Engineering Connections Schools - Industry Schedule  and 2010-2011 Engineering Connections Schools - Industry Schedule 5/5/2011
