The
Lunch & Learn/Classroom Connection
format has proven to be a effective means to
bring
"Real Life" into the
classroom; it is a format that could be used
for other ways to bridge the classroom and
industry besides Engineering.
Some participants comments (most interesting and

The
Entrepreneur
Productive Innovative Engine
(PIE) Teams concept was used as an introduction
(approximately 5-10 minutes) of guest
speakers in the 2011 Spring Semester. PIE Teams is a
way to expand the domain knowledge areas
from Engineering (Design and Development)
and Technology (Manufacturing/Service) hats
to include Customer (Marketplace), Scientist
(Research), Logistics (Global Supply Chain)
and Business (Entrepreneur) Hats. The
PIE Team concept showed how the
guest domain knowledge fits into the PIE
Team and student career options. The
PIE Team framework gives students
a means for improving relevance of school
subjects to the real world.
